Nearly six decades after Samantha first twitched her nose and cast a spell over America, a Bewitched reboot is preparing to enchant a new generation.
Yep, Fox has officially put into development a reimagining of the beloved classic, with The Boys and Daisy Jones & the Six writer-producer Judalina Neira at the helm. She’ll executive produce alongside veteran producer Doug Robinson and Lauren Moffat under the Sony Pictures Television banner – continuing a partnership that has fuelled hits like The Goldbergs and Rules of Engagement.
What will the reboot be about?
This modern Bewitched promises a heartfelt tone and a cinematic approach, more akin to Bel-Air than the laugh-track sitcom of the 1960s. The new take keeps the core love story intact: a witch named Samantha falls for a mortal named Darrin, and together they must navigate the cultural clash between their two very different worlds – while contending with the interference of disapproving, often magical parents. The story is being developed internally at Sony TV, which will co-produce the potential series with Fox Entertainment.
Who is in the cast?
Between Nicole Kidman and Elizabeth Montgomery – we've already had some pretty iconic actors take on the role of Samantha. But who will be next? Here are some of our top picks for the role:

While she's been pretty busy taking the pop world by storm, we think this would be a fab return to her acting roots. She's got the sass (and the blonde bombshell hairdo) to make Samantha come alive.

She's already played one very famous witch on screen (honestly, still mourning the cancellation of Sabrina), but maybe she's interested in returning to this witching world?

She's got that otherworldly beauty down pat, and she's got all the charm and charisma we'd love to see in a modern-day Samantha.

We've been missing Chloe from our screens for a while now, and she's yet to do much in the TV space. We'd love to see her back at the helm of a story.

Margot feels like an apt choice (following in the footsteps of fellow Aussie actress Nicole Kidman in reprising the role). Robbie has all the credentials and could bring some real depth to Samantha's plight.
