Interviewers these days are a dime a dozen on the internet – but not all journalists are created equal. And not many come close to the kind of rapport-building and musical trivia knowledge as Apple Music's Zane Lowe. There's a reason for his ability to snag all the artists we really, really want to hear from – and for a full hour no less. We've seen him road trip with Dominic Fike and hang at the pub with Matty Healy, talk through the semiotics of divorce with Adele and navigate the terrors of sudden fame with a sixteen-year-old Billie Eilish in Paris.
But if you're unacquainted, or simply need an ep to add to your playlist next time you're on the bus or eating dinner alone, we've got you covered with 11 of the best Zane Lowe episodes to binge next.
1. The 1975 (2022)
There's something so enigmatic about the way Matty Healy talks – and here we get to follow him around his hometown of Manchester, visiting key places from his youth, and getting into the nitty gritty of the music, his struggle with addiction, his opinions on the industry and what we can be doing better. Most importantly, people credit his impassioned speech to the Gallagher brothers in this interview as the reason Oasis reformed. (All speculative, of course, but it certainly was convincing.)
2. Billie Eilish (2020)
Lowe has caught up with Billie Eilish for plenty of interviews since this one, but there's something about their Paris meeting that felt like catching an artist on the cusp of greatness. Eilish had just released When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? and was still but a mere teenager, flanked by her older brother Finneas of course. She's characteristically goofy, melancholic and deeply introspective in a way that belies her years – and foreshadows the heights to which she would soon rise.
3. Harry Styles (2026)
Lowe's latest episode with Harry Styles for his Kiss All The Time, Disco Occassionaly album was an instant classic. Set across from each other in a diner, the two wax lyrical about a decade of musicianship, of loss and heartbreak, friendship and what's next.
4. Tame Impala (2020)
The Australian artist has done several Zane Lowe sit downs now, but this one – I think – was his best. In support of his Slow Rush album, Kevin Parker sat down with Lowe to discuss his musical inspirations, his love of The Flaming Lips, and of drums as the starting point for any song, how his house in Malibu recently razed by California wildfires, and edging ever closer toward electronic music.
5. Adele
There aren't many people we would want to sit down with for an hour more than Adele – and there's a reason why her chat with Lowe for her album 30 is one of his most popular (with nearly three million views on YouTube alone). She's a firecracker with incredible wit and depth. We'd listen to this one again in a heart beat.
6. Fred again..
This was a fun one. Fred's enthusiasm about trigger samples, drums, and loops is so infectious – and there's something about the set up with Lowe and Fred sat practically on the floor together playing with all his music toys that feels a lot more playful than some of his other interviews. You can see Lowe simply light up in response to the sheer force of talent he's in the room with.
7. ROSALÍA (2026)
Another recent one that will go down as a classic. With an album as sonically and thematically dense as LUX we knew there would be plenty to discuss – and ROSALÍA just continues to blow us away with how intelligent and introspective she can be. Her musicality and genius are not to be diminished – and this is a great place to start if you're in need of getting acquainted.
8. Charli xcx (2025)
Charli has always been underestimated, and this interview feels like one of the first times her electro-pop sensibilities have been treated with the same level of reverence as other genres. Obviously, her Brat-era run was generational in terms of its cultural impact, but here she's candid about the ups and downs of what a decade in music has been like as a pop star.
9. Lorde (2025)
Lorde has grown into herself in such a fascinating way – from teenage superstar to now 30-year-old stalwart of the industry. Her influence on songwriting and sonics have been monumental – and listening to her reckon with fame, spirituality, the body, nature, music and love in this interview is nothing short of a treat.
10. Kendrick Lamar (2018)
There's a reason Lamar won the Pulitzer Prize for Music this year – and for this specific album. He's an artist through-and-through, and Lowe speaks to Lamar about being – even then – one of the most vital voices in hip-hop.
11. Dominic Fike (2024)
Fike is someone who's lived a thousand lives – and Lowe ensures we get a look in at it all in this interview. Speaking in Floridian's hometown of Naples – the two go on a road trip of sorts through some of the most impactful spots from his adolescence, and the good, the bad and the ugly of his life lived so far.
