I would gladly argue that some of the best and most flavourful dishes I have tried can be found in Western Sydney, from small, family-owned spots that have been around for decades to popular sandwich shops you might have seen on Instagram. At RUSSH, we pride ourselves on being a team of food lovers – and while we've rounded up our favourite Sydney restaurants, we've now curated our favourite restaurants in Western Sydney. Find the full list below.
1. Sandwhich Sydney

Best known for: chicken nanban sandwiches and black sesame banana bread.
Open: Monday - Sunday (daytime only)
We think it's perfectly acceptable to plan your day around lunch, and St Peters’ Sandwhich makes a good case. Behind the Applebee Street café are Nicole Alexandra and Charles Winardi, whose kitchen resumes include Neptune’s Grotto and Hubert. The crispy chicken nanban is particularly good, but there’s also mushroom katsu, furikake-dusted fries, and brown butter banana bread swirled with black sesame. We guarantee you haven't tried a sandwich like this.
2. Malaak Baghdad Restaurant

Or, for the vegetarians among us, the falafel with salad, chips and eggplant is hard to beat, while hummus is obviously an easy addition to the table. Come with an appetite and someone willing to share.
