Nike’s 1970s Moon Shoe and Jil Sander’s PUMA collab: these are the sneakers we’re coveting this year

Sneakers have always existed in a category of their own – you only have to meet a bonafide "sneakerhead" to get insight into just how powerful, covetable and collectable pairs of trainers can be. And each year, it feels like brands to continue to capitalise on the blossoming sector of fashion with designer collabs, vintage reissues and fresh new limited-edition releases that perk up the eyes and ears of those who know what's what.

We're only a quarter of the way through 2026 – and we've already predicted which sneakers trends we think will be buzzing in 2026 – but already we're seeing plenty of sneakers to be excited about. And if you need a breakdown of all the coolest and best new sneakers to have come out of 2026 so far, we've got you covered, below...

1. Nike Moon Shoe

If you're not familiar with the Nike archives, the first you might've seen of this shoe silhouette was from the brand's uber-successful collab with Jacquemus last year. And now, Nike have reissued their most OG shoe: the Moon Shoe. Before Nike was even called Nike, Bill Bowerman created the company's first running shoe using his wife's waffle iron. Originally launched in 1971, it never got a fully-fledged public release – so this feels particularly special to be getting them rolled out now.

It's arriving in three new colorways (yellow, white and navy blue), and is set to drop on Nike SNKRS starting 3 April, with a wider release available on the Nike website from 7 May.

2. Jil Sander x Puma K-street

First introduced in 1998 (and one of the earliest examples of the luxury sneaker), this reissue of the classic sneaker – almost three decades later – under the direction of Simone Bellotti is one of our favourites of 2026. The streamlined silhouette is defined by a contoured fit and ultra-thin sole. A suede colourway will be made available globally at selected Jil Sander stores and retail partners, as well as online at Jilsander.com beginning 8 April 2026. And the blue nylon colourway will be exclusive to Jil Sander retail and online channels.

3. Salomon ACS sneaker Pro-Shell

The brand's gorpcore classic silhouette from 2005 got an ocean-inspired update, mimicking the kind of fluted shells you might find washed onto the shore at the beach. Because of it's open, airy and breathable structure, the new sneaker is perfect for hikes and rainy walks in the city.

It's arriving in two minimal colorways: “Black” and “Rainy Day”, and will be available to purchase starting 1 April on the Salomon website and select retailers.

4. NikeSKIMS Air Rift Satin

The joint venture brand this year dropped the now-sold-out NikeSKIMS Air Rift Satin as part of Drop 1 of its Spring 2026 collection. It's a split-toe sneakerina shoe with a soft satin upper (which we predicted would continue its reign in 2026) And of course, Lisa of Blackpink modelled them in their new campaign.

It arrives in two colourways, Silt Red and Black, and is now available on the official Nike and SKIMS’ websites.

5. Balenciaga Radar Sneaker

One of Pierpaolo Piccioli's first sneakers for Balenciaga, the Radar Sneaker takes its name from the tracking technology, and moulds into your foot for a seamless fit. It's a slightly more low-profile style than we've seen at the House for a while, and features a 3B logo debossed on the toe box.

It arrives in two colourways, greyscale and purple, and is now available to buy on the Balenciaga website and select retailers.

6. Moon Boot Moon247

As part of the brand's second drop of its debut Spring Summer 2026 collection, they've released an updated Moon247 sneaker. The new iteration features the iconic chunky, cushioned sole of a traditional silhouette, but in a more lightweight, street-ready, and "streamlined" form.

The SS26 collection is available to purchase now on the Moon Boot website and select retailers.
