The world has been abuzz since A24 secretly screened You Can See Everything, Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder's latest – and, arguably, most anticipated – project at the recent 2026 Telluride Film Festival.
While we only have a teaser of what to expect from Fielder's next documentary film, the internet has been quick to react, collectively gnawing at the bars for a project that has been three years in the making. The film follows notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes during the 34 days leading up to her imprisonment for fraud relating to her blood testing company, Theranos.
But if you know Fielder, you know this is not only going to be an incredible piece of work, but an awkward one, too. A comedian, writer and actor, the creative mind is well known for his deadpan satire — the kind that makes you want to curl your toes and flex them after it's over in relief – in the best way possible. More often than not, his performances leave you questioning what's real and what's not...
So, if you've only just uncovered the marvellous work of Nathan Fielder, or simply need a refresher, below we've compiled a list of our favourite projects of his for you to digest.
The Curse
Where to watch: Paramount+
The Curse is a mini series, co-created by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie (filmmaker behind The Smashing Machine and Uncut Gems). It follows Asher, played by Fielder, and Whitney Siegel by Emma Stone, a newly married couple trying to renovate and sell eco-friendly homes for a reality TV show called Fliplanthropy in Española, New Mexico. A dry satire about suburban anxieties, things really take a turn when the privileged couple enter a new suburban area and a young girl in defiance places a curse on Asher.
The Rehearsal
Where to watch: HBO Max
Fielder constructs elaborate and full-scale set replicas with hired actors to help ordinary people rehearse tricky or high-stakes life situations before they happen. It's a bit of a mockumentary and reality tv show mixed in one. The series gradually evolves into a narrative about Fielder's own relationship to control, human emotion, and performance art, expanding into complex simulations like simulated parenthood and aviation training – he actually flies a Boeing 737 in the show.
Nathan For You
Where to watch: Paramount+
Leveraging his actual business degree, Fielder plays yet another awkwardly deadpan version of himself , this time offering absurd and unrealistic marketing strategies to real small business owners. What rolls out is the consequences of his own actions.
You Can See Everything
Where to watch: In cinemas from October
As touched on above, the A24 documentary is about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes in the 34 days leading up to her prison sentence, following a three year filmmaking journey where Fielder and the crew gained intimate access to her household. The film examines truth, deception, and power dynamics through Fielder's signature skeptical perspective.
Marcel the Shell with Shoes
Where to watch: Rent from Apple TV
Perhaps his sweetest and most endearing project, this film is based on the popular YouTube shorts created by Jenny Slate and Dean Fleischer Camp. The story follows a tiny animated shell named Marcel looking for his lost family. Fielder makes only a brief voice cameo as Justin.
