Beauty loves nostalgia and the return of blue eyeshadow is proof. From Cleopatra to Twiggy to Drew Barrymore's Dylan in Charlie's Angels, it's a makeup shade with historical significance.
Currently, it feels as if the colour has been resurrected in a modern way: dense navy, sheer pastels and fashion-focused cobalt. Chanel recently released an entire viral makeup collection – eye palettes included – inspired by blue denim. Makeup artist Fara Homidi, who just launched into the Australian market via Mecca, grabbed attention when she launched two eye trios, one with a swatch of cerulean. And then there's the upcoming Devil Wears Prada sequel, which has us all thinking about Emily's perfect blue eye in the first film.
