It's August, which means I’ve started dressing for the weather I want, rather than the weather I’m actually experiencing. After months of coats and knitwear, I’m ready for clothes that are suited to somewhere warmer, even if those early mornings still require a jacket.
Thankfully, August is fairly forgiving when it comes to experimenting with fashion. There’s room to experiment without fully committing to spring. A sheer skirt (I'm eyeing off a dusty rose style from Camilla and Marc) can be made winter-appropriate with a chunky knit. Perhaps a lightweight jacket (St Agni are doing the most beautiful suede Moto style) can replace the heavy coat you’ve been wearing on repeat since June.
And then there are, of course, pieces that make sense year-round: perfectly tailored Bassike pants that works with a long-sleeve now and a tank later, or a Cou Cou Intimates baby tee I'll be layering and loving from the colder months and beyond. In other words, the best part is that none of them need to wait for September to be worn.
