Horror fans – we have some good news, and some bad news for you...
The good news is that one of the biggest horror franchises of the decade is returning for the threequel – yep, John Krasinski is stepping back into the director’s chair for the highly anticipated A Quiet Place Part III – and bringing some of our favourite cast members back for the ride. But it comes with a caveat – it looks like it could be the film franchise's final instalment. The news might be bittersweet, but here's everything we know so far...
The official cast list has dropped
The official cast list posted by Krasinksi included Jack O’Connell (Sinners), Jason Clarke (House of Dynamite) and Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding), who will join returning franchise stars Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds and Hament star Noah Jupe.
This will likely be the final film
Director, Krasinski, took to Instagram to announce the third film's official cast list, setting the social media post to the tune of Hamilton's One Last Time. Of course, this feels like a confirmation that the much-beloved horror franchise will end as a trilogy with this upcoming third film.

Krasinski will be back to direct
Krasinski will not only direct but also write and produce the film, continuing his deep involvement with the hit horror franchise that he helped launch in 2018. This new instalment will mark his third directorial effort in the Quiet Place saga – while Michael Sarnoski took the reins for 2024’s prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One.
Krasinski confirmed his return to the franchise through an Instagram post:

What will it be about?
Plot details are currently being kept tightly under wraps, but it’s safe to assume the signature premise remains intact – humans navigating a world overrun by sound-sensitive alien predators, forced to survive in total silence.
When is it being released?
The film's release date was pushed back slightly from 9 July 2027 to 30 July 2027.
