Happy first Monday in May (or Tuesday, for those of us in Australia) to those who celebrate! In other words, the 2025 Met Gala has officially arrived. Here at the RUSSH office, as of 8am, we'll be glued to our computer screens, as celebrities begin the famous ascent of the Metropolitan Museum's steps, and finally reveal their looks for this year in the process. This years theme is 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style', and the official dress code is 'Tailored For You.' We're certainly intrigued to see how this is interpreted as the evening kicks off, but we're expecting to see plenty of suiting (with a Met-approved twist) and gowns 'tailored' exactly for attendees figures walk the carpet.
Excluding the evening's co-chairs, the guest list is kept under wraps until celebrities arrive at the Met. And while that means we don't know for sure who will be in attendance, we can look to previous years for an indication. Zendaya has become something of a mainstay at the Met Gala in recent years, turning out not one but two impeccable looks last year. Emma Chamberlain is also set to appear, having scored a coveted red carpet correspondent role once again this year. Will Kylie and Timmy make finally their red carpet debut? Will Rihanna and A$AP Rocky once again be fashionably late? And how will Tyla outdo her Balmain sand gown from last year's event?
