Beauty / IN THE BAG

The lightest touch with Peyton Knight

She took us through the National Gallery of Victoria for our This Must Be The Place issue, and we’ve gone along for the ride ever since. A St. Louis native and well-seasoned runway star, here she shares the beauty tips she’s learnt along the way.

My top five products are ...
Sukin Oil Balancing Mattifying Facial moisturiser
NARS Pure Radiance Tinted moisturiser
Givenchy Mister Light Instant Light Corrective pen
Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting pencil
Maybelline Illegal Length mascara

My travel beauty routine consists of ...
A very hydrating moisturiser, some type of detoxifying facial mask and tinted moisturiser. Most of the time whilst flying I don't wear makeup because the air up there already dehydrates the skin tremendously, so I allow it to breathe and frequently spray rose water all over my face and neck.

The best beauty secret I’ve learned backstage is ...
When wearing lipstick, stick your finger in your mouth and pull out to collect any excess product so as to prevent it from getting the colour on your teeth.

When it comes to beauty I always ...
Stick to the basics. I would rather be accused of not wearing enough makeup than looking like a clown doll from a horror film.

My beauty icon is ...
Rihanna, as always.

My biggest beauty indulgence is...
I'm not a huge eyeshadow person, but for nights out I love to splurge and that usually consists of a NARS duo or the Urban Decay naked palettes. I'm obsessed with their ultimate basics.

The best advice on beauty I’ve received is …
Use a light hand. Cake is for birthdays, not your foundation.

The best health advice I’ve received is …
Drink water. I was sceptical because of the sheer simplicity of this tip, but it truly works wonders – not only for your skin, but your whole body.

The product I can’t live without is …
The aforementioned tinted moisturiser. I never wear foundation, so it's my saving grace to add some evenness and subtle dew to my face.
