The hidden worlds of Paris

She travelled to Paris to find a touch of Africa that felt like home. For Australian photographer Caroline Wood, it was the Right Bank sanctuaries, discovered through friends and fellow creatives, that left a lasting mark.

Her favourite moments? “An old friend from Paris took me to Le Comptoir Général as a surprise and I fell in love with the moody space and its ethos that celebrates exoticism and cultural diversity.”

Marché Noir started as a pop-up store inside Le Comptoir, it recently graduated to a large African-inspired space in Le Marais ... The store sells vintage clothes and treasures curated by its stylish founder Amah Ayivi and is a hub for creativity with its tight group of workers also making African-inspired music.”
