How to make it with Sans [ceuticals]’ Lucy Vincent

The New Zealand-based founder of cult brand Sans [ceuticals], Lucy Vincent lets us in on her most-used products, industry tips and the memories that made her.

My breakthrough career moment was…
Having children. Being a mother and a working woman means you have to navigate both worlds with extreme precision and efficiency. My first priority is my children, so it’s definitely made me a lot sharper in the use of my time and ideas at work.

The top four most useful products backstage / on set are …
Tail comb
Hairspray (sadly)
Water
Snacks!

The product(s) most worth the investment are …
Sans [ceuticals] Activator 7 Body + Hair + Face Oil – it does everything!
Synergie SuperSerum – killer product, really clarifies skin and is incredibly hydrating.

My biggest beauty trick / tip is …
I slap our Activator 7 Oil on before I get out of the shower (water not running!) This creates a hydro-lipidic film that locks in vital moisture. It makes your skin super luminous without any greasiness.

My favourite career memory / highlight is …
Shooting for iD magazine on a remote beach on the West Coast of NZ. After hiking for two hours the art director asked me where my equipment case was and I just waved my hands at him. After all, what could you do with a guy’s hair on a wild windy beach?!

My advice to people getting started in the industry is …
Get up early. Don’t give up. Constantly be curious. And through it all, be open, warm and gracious.
