Viktor&Rolf at the National Gallery of Victoria

When Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren began designing womenswear in 1992, it was with the intention of crafting wearable art. Self-professed outsiders of the fashion world, the duo have consistently and meticulously blurred the lines between art and fashion, with dream-like silhouettes made from unexpected textiles and accessories showcasing their sense of humour and rebellion – from the doona dress of AW 05 to pieces resembling picture frames for Couture AW 16. In collaboration with the National Gallery of Victoria, and to coincide with the label’s 25th anniversary, the pair will showcase a collection of creations spanning their colourful career for Viktor&Rolf: Fashion Artists. Here you’ll find 40 pieces from the archives as well as a video gallery of Viktor & Rolf runways. The exhibition runs from October 21, 2016, to February 26, 2017.
