Van Gogh and the Seasons, Melbourne

Among the most influential artists in history, Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh possessed a long-held fascination with the ebb and flow of the natural world. As captivated by the rich hues of autumnal leaves as he was by a clear winter sky, his depiction of landscapes and our place within the circle of life are regarded as some of the most important and prolific.

As part of the National Gallery of Victoria’s 2017 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces showcase, the gallery will present Van Gogh and the Seasons, a collection of artworks grouped by their reference to summer, autumn, winter and spring, with documentary material and pieces from the artist's personal collection. Curated by Sjraar van Heugten and exclusive to Melbourne, the exhibition will run from April 28 'til July 9, 2017.
