Translucence at Black Eye Gallery

From the sheer outline of Calla Lilies leaning delicately in profile to the perfect symmetry of a lone Banksia, Jacqui Dean is much less interested in the hue of a flower’s petals than she is in what lies beneath. Through the use of Xrayograms, the Sydney-based architectural and fine-art photographer strips back the layers of her subjects, a selection of Australian flora, to reveal their structural core in exquisite black and white renderings. A collection of her artworks will be on display in her latest exhibition, Translucence, at Sydney’s Black Eye Gallery until September 11.
