La Colombe d’Or, Saint Paul de Vence, France

In 1920 a small restaurant and guesthouse were established by a local Provençal farmer, Paul Roux, in the picturesque medieval town of Saint Paul de Vence, Provence.
The South of France was a popular destination for artists at the time, who regularly visited La Colombe d’Or, and often used their creations as currency when the time
came to pay. Their pieces still cover the walls of the La Colombe d’Or today: a collection that includes works by Miró, Chagall, Léger, Matisse and Picasso.
Come for the crudités, stay for the modernists.
