Haïr Dïe, Sydney

Emerging and electric – if you’re going to play Haïr Dïe, you want it turned up loud. Friends of The Preatures, with influences ranging from Pylon to Devo, Joachim Witt and Chrisma, the four-piece delivers a sonic lesson in post-punk delivery. Frontwoman Alys Hale is no stranger to a crowd and controls a room adeptly, her voice strong and guttural, reminiscent of the 80s-era power ballad-wielders that look you straight in the eye as they sing. She finds band mates in the brothers Callaghan: Cal, Sam and Mont - their strings providing plenty of meaty accompaniment. Working between Sydney and London with a forthcoming EP due in February, Haïr Dïe will be playing an intimate one-off show, joined by artist and RUSSH favourite Kitty Callaghan on drums, at Oxford Circus this Sunday October 20 alongside Body Type.
