Freeze frame. Internationally acclaimed fashion photographer Denis Piel, featured most recently in RUSSH’s Peace Out issue, knows how to photograph women. Over his career he has captured some of the world’s most captivating: Uma Thurman at only 16, Christy Turlington, Gia Carangi and Isabella Rossellini – one of his favourite subjects. Film Stills – a collection of more than 50 of Piel’s fashion photographs from the 80s – offers a real-life glimpse of these portraits and more at Moscow’s The Lumiére Brothers Center for Photography, in Piel’s first Russian exhibition.
