Café Henrie, New York

From the neon Henrie sign out the front to the pink and blue tabletops inside to the varying artwork displayed on the walls – Café Henrie’s playful aesthetic serves as a gentle reminder to not take yourself too seriously. Opened in September 2015 by graffiti artist André Saraiva, the Lower East Side cafe was initially thought of as an extension of Saraiva’s New York studio, and quite simply as a place for friends to get together. Today, Café Henrie continues to attract artists, authors, designers and the like in need of good coffee – everything from your regular brews to the more unconventional cardamom coffee – and healthful lunch options including signature bowls that have gained cult-like status.
