Byron Bay, New South Wales

Picturesque, peaceful and stress-free – this is a lifestyle we could get used to. Byron Bay: the Sydney-siders' ultimate escape.

See …
Byron has a ‘go at your own pace’ attitude. Carefree and relaxed, there are a number of things to do. A must is to swim at Wategos beach. Complete with turquoise water and palm leaves – it’s your own tropical getaway. A walk to Cape Byron Lighthouse is magical at sunrise, and if natural wonders are for you, then Killen Falls is a local spot not to look past. A great swim and, let’s face it, a great photo opportunity. Forget what TLC told you, make sure to go chasing.

Stay …
For a special stay in your own private villa, look no further than Elements of Byron. Spacious and light-filled, complete with an amazing bathtub you’ll never want to jump out of. A five minute walk gets you down to the beach or opt for the enormous pool area complete with sun beds, fire pits and a spa. A sweet escape.

Take…
Beachside days and sunny lunches need not require much. Staying light and effortless with linen ensembles, summer dresses and crocheted swimsuits, and always protect yourself with sunscreen.

Taste…
For fresh seafood and produce, Rae’s on Wategos is my choice. Beautiful fresh pastas, seafood and salad. Not to mention you’ll be dining with a view overlooking picturesque Wategos beach. Another recommendation would be The Roadhouse. With fresh seasonal produce and with a rustic flare, coffee and cocktails, Roadhouse is perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sprawled across 80 acres, The Farm is also a must-see. With its Three Blue Ducks outpost, The Bread Social – an artisan bakehouse - and a sustainable local produce store, it's a food-lovers paradise.

Be sure to pay a visit to the iconic Spell boutique. A bohemian lover's dream, it’s an oasis of magical prints, linen dresses and the newly added swim range. If you're lucky enough to be in town on the first Sunday of the month you can also catch the Byron Bay Markets, held at Butler Street Reserve, where you're sure to find a Byron treasure to take home with you.
