Nature’s way with Elyse Taylor

From Bonds to Seafolly to Victoria’s Secret and Nude by Nature – she’s got a face you’re bound to recognise. An Aussie export now based in NYC, here she tells RUSSH of her frank approach to health and fitness.

My top five beauty products are …
I really like, especially with long plane trips and stuff like that, I really am into oils. I love the Tata Harper cleansing [oil].
Whenever I travel I always use the Nude by Nature Rose Illuminating stick, I use it on my cheeks and on my lips.
The flawless concealer – I’ve had it for a few months now as a sneak peak. It’s actually really good, it’s fragrance free and it’s so good for dark circles and imperfections, its super easy just put it on, blend it and it works. It’s good because it’s natural so it doesn’t sit on your skin and cake.
I love Living Proof – the hair products – they have one for split ends that’s actually amazing.
Pawpaw – when in doubt, Pawpaw always.

My travel beauty routine consists of …
Probably less when I’m travelling, just because I’m usually travelling for work, so it’s a little bit more cream, moisture and hydration based. If I am on vacation then I actually use this amazing eye pallet from Nude by Nature and it’s just easy.

The best beauty secret I’ve learnt backstage is …
If it’s hot I put a primer underneath, you know when your makeup starts to move off if you’re in the sun or at the beach? You put a primer on before you put your foundation on and it’s like glue so everything stays in. Curl your lashes before you put your mascara on, I think everyone knows that.

Is natural/organic skincare something that is important to you …
It wasn’t so much before I was pregnant, I think once you get pregnant you’re kind of like hang on let me re-evaluate all of my life. I feel like I worked even since turning 30 I’m busier than I was when I was 20 so when I shoot they just cake on so much stuff for filming with the lighting and everything so when I do have time to choose then I like to educate myself and be as natural and organic as possible.

My beauty icon is …
For me probably, I don’t know, I love Carolyn Murphy, she still looks the exact same. She’s like 43 and stunning.

My biggest beauty indulgence is …
Massages, I never have time. It’s usually super rushed waiting for my nails to dry and I will be like yeah I will get a 20 minute massage too.

The best advice on health I’ve received is …
I have to [workout]. I’m 30 now, I can’t get away with eating hamburgers and being skinny. It’s about balance you know, I have to work out for work so I will go to the gym four or five times a week and I eat really healthy now. It’s just things in moderation.
